PRP for Hair Restoration
This procedure helps to restore hair loss. When injected in a region with thinning hair, it stimulates the hair follicles to promote hair growth resulting in thicker, fuller hair. Multiple sessions are required to see results. Nutrafol supplements are used in conjunction with PRP sessions to accelerate the rate at which hair grows.
What to Expect with PRP Hair Restoration?
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy works by first taking a small blood sample. That sample is then treated in a centrifuge to separate the reparative cells, or platelets, from the rest of the components that make up your blood. The highly concentrated PRP can release essential growth proteins when injected back into the body. Using a small needle, your provider will take the PRP and inject it directly into the scalp. It is normal to experience bruising, redness, itching, swelling and/or soreness that may last from 2-5 days following your procedure. If you experience any pain or discomfort you may take Tylenol or other Acetaminophen-containing products as directed. You may notice a tingling sensation where the cells are being activated. Do not wet your hair for at least 3 hours after your service. Our recommendation is that you should wait until the following day after the procedure to wash your hair. Shampoo can also be used on your head the next day after your service.
